Our story...
MortHouse Heart Community Development Corporation (CDC) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. It is housed in a historic building in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA. Located at the top of the hill on the corner of Rittenhouse and Morton Streets, the building is the heart of the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s, Morton Homes. The CDC was developed to provide programs and services tailored to support and enhance the community and its residents. As a non-profit entity, we are to provide mechanisms where programs and resources can empower individuals, families and the local community with tools to academically, socially and economically excel.

Our Mission:
MortHouse Heart CDC's mission is to provide tools to encourage and enhance academic, economic, and social skills.
We encourage by giving support and advice to someone so that they will do or continue to do something positive and well. We encourage all to do things to the best of their ability and push beyond that to get more from them; more than they do not know that they had to give and help or stimulate someone to develop, achieve or accomplish beyond what they saw or thought possible.
We enhance academics by enhancing individual learners’ knowledge, ability, skills, potential education, and academic experience by providing supplemental education and training alternatives to support what is provided within the Philadelphia Public School system. We provide education and adult education opportunities supporting those participants’ thought process to complete their academics and receive a High School diploma or GED. We serve to be a satellite site for community residents.
Economic relating to or based on the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services, providing career options for professional development to enhance individuals, families and the community; We provide financial literacy tools for application and implementation to give individuals the ability to make more informed decisions about their finances.
Social skills used to communicate and interact with each other verbally, non-verbally, written, and visually; any competence facilitation interaction and communication with others where social rules and relations are created and communicated; used to communicate with other daily in a variest of ways, including verbal, non-verbal, written, and visual.
